Arrival information: getting to New Caledonia
Since August 1, 2022, the rules previously applied to travelers to New Caledonia no longer apply:
- travelers no longer have to complete any formalities prior to their arrival, and the presentation of a health pass can no longer be required, regardless of the country or area of origin;
- No justification for travel ("compelling reason") may be required;
- travelers no longer have to present a sworn statement attesting that they are COVID-free and that they agree to undertake an antigenic test or a biological examination upon arrival in the country.
The same applies to travel between France and each of its overseas territories, with the exception of Wallis and Futuna.
Nevertheless, the Department of Health and Social Affairs strongly recommends wearing a mask on planes, at airports and in places frequently visited by vulnerable people. It also encourages all travelers arriving in New Caledonia to undertake a COVID test two days after their arrival.
